Cal Poly students enrolled in summer school are paying the tuition and UU fee; and therefore, will have access to the Recreation Center during summer quarter. Cal Poly students NOT enrolled in summer school (not paying tuition and UU fee for summer quarter) are eligible to purchase a Recreation Center membership at the student rate. Cool off and rejuvenate with some lap swimming in the Olympic-size Recreation Pool or enjoy lounging and playing water basketball in the Leisure Pool. We offer a variety of instructional classes for all skill levels and interests, from introductory to Masters swimming classes; SCUBA, aqua aerobics and private swim lessons.

Enjoy an energizing, safe and effective workout in the water that reduces impact to joints while developing cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility and endurance. The class is challenging but promises fun with the high energy music and instructor.
Aqua Fitness >
- Over 40 Group Exercise Classes held weekdays and weekends
- Examples: Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Cycling
- Rent-a-Class options available for campus groups
- TRX Circuit Training Class: Mondays and Wednesdays at noon - 1:00 pm
From 6-Pack Abs to Power Yoga, take your pick of more than 15 unique group fitness classes to choose from offered seven days a week various times throughout the day. The group exercise classes are included with Recreation Center access for students and non-student participants. The diverse, comprehensive offering of classes are taught by a team of highly-skilled, certified instructors. Classes range from 30-90 minutes in length and most are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made at the Pro Shop for two of our more popular classes, Body Pump and Breakaway Cycling to ensure you get a spot at your favorite time.

Sometimes it's fun to just do your own thing. Along with the opportunity to swim laps, jog around the indoor track, or get a great workout in the weight and cardio areas, the Recreation Center offers scheduled times to play semi-organized sports and activities.

- 5-week modified schedule for basketball and volleyball leagues
Come get a work out and enjoy the outdoors by rope climbing on the 42' climbing wall or free climbing on the 13' bouldering rock. All skill levels are welcome whether you're a new climber or a seasoned climbing machine you can push your fitness level to new heights and meet new friends. Students and non-student Recreation Center members may climb for no additional cost.

Taking an outdoor adventure of your own and need a tent, sleeping bag or lantern? Poly Escapes has a large selection of outdoor equipment available for you to rent at low cost for a day, a weekend, or a week. You can also rent kayaks, wetsuits, surfboards, snowshoes, stoves, ice chests and much more. Rentals are available to Cal Poly students, faculty/staff, and the local community.

Family Fun Days provide opportunities for Recreation Center members to bring their families to enjoy the many amenities of the facility: swimming, racquetball, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, group exercise classes and the exercise rooms (based upon age requirements).

The Recreation Center will be hosting the following programs during the summer. Special SOAR programming will be open to all students.
- 6 weeks of SOAR programs in the MAC (July 7 - August 12)
- Includes two nights (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) per week of SOAR Open Night at the Recreation Center
- 3-week EPIC program will utilize designated spaces two nights per week for activities such as fitness classes, open gym, BBQ, and sand volleyball (July 7-25)
PEACH/EPE Kinesiology Workshops
- Three different week-long sessions operated in collaboration with the Kinesiology Department and CPE will utilize a variety of areas for conduct workshops (July and first week of August)
